sony dashThe Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer was launched by Sony in April 2010.

Here are the features:

  • 7 inch touchscreen LCD display screen
  • 800 x 400 pixel resolution
  • Netflix TV and movie streaming
  • 250 MB memory
  • multi-tasking
  • built-in USB port
  • access to 1500 free apps
  • access video and audio content from Sony's Bravia platform
  • It has a wedge shape, which means it can stand on it's side just like an alarm clock

This is not really a computer in that it doesn't run on an operating system. Instead it's a media and games player that's been jazzed up. It's a cross between the Playstation Portable (PSP) and a smartphone. Essentially has everything the PSP has - ability to play games, watch videos and movies and play music, with the added functionality of being able to go online and browse the internet, plus a bigger screen. If you are the type of gamer who plays online games, this could be the perfect device for you, as it is cheaper than Apple's iPad.

Customers had initially reported some issues with the software - but Sony released an updated improved version of the software in June 2010, which sorted out all issues.
